As an area already famous for having cheap staying places. Starting with the ones that offers many facilities to the ones that offers just a few. Borneo 35 hostel is one of them. The hostel is located at Jalan Kebon Sirih Barat I No.35, Central Jakarta.

When entering Borneo 35, the Indonesian ethnic atmosphere can be felt because of the interior that decorates the lobby, such as, sculputures, bamboo plaited materials, and kites. Another good impression is that the lobby is in clean condition, making guests feel more welcome.

The hostel has a capacity of 30 rooms, and comes in two choices. The first choice, are the rooms with air conditioner with the price of 100,000 Indonesian Rupiahs (IDR). The second choice are the rooms with fan and will be charged 65,000 IDR each. The good thing is that there are only king sized beds. But the price of each room does not include breakfast and there aren`t any refrigerator, television, nor telephone. If desiring to eat, there is a stall that serves food such as fried chicken at the front yard of Borneo 35.

Inside each bedroom, there is a bathroom with a shower, a water container, and a closet inside. Though, there`s only cold water.

Talking about water containers, they`re not the same as bathtubs. The height of water containers are about 1,5 meters. You use them by getting water from the water container with a water dipper, and then pouring the water in the water dipper to your body. Don`t try to get in the water container because it doesn`t fit the size of an adult.

The water container can be used if the shower isn`t functioning. And if the water in the water container is not enough then open the tap to flow water inside. Although, I can tell you that water flowing through the tap is not much. So, try not to leave the water container empty to avoid waiting too long to refill. Apart from that, the sound of water flowing into the water container can be quite distrubing.

Borneo 35 hostel doesn`t provide bathroom accessories such as towels, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, and tootbrushes for guests. So, guests should bring their own equipments or purchase them from a nearby store. It is also necessary to bring your own drinking water and mosquito exterminator.

Borneo 35 hostel only provides bedrooms for guests. The choice is in the tourists hands to choose their place to stay at Jalan Jaksa.
