Who would have thought that the big building at Jalan Jaksa No.32 - 34, is the oldest staying place in the area. The Karya Bahana Hotel has been famous amongst tourists since 1973. Then, the building was more like a dormitory. Now, there are three kinds of rooms. which are; the standard, deluxe, and executive rooms. The standard room costs 190,000 Indonesian Rupiahs (IDR), and the deluxe room costs 225,000 IDR. Both rooms have twin beds. The executive rooms costs 310,000 IDR. This kind of room is the most spacious, and the bed is a double sized one. Breakfast is not included.
Each room has its own bathroom, with a bathtub, and a hot and cold shower inside. Soap and towels are provided. That`s not all, a television and an air conditioner adds the comfort.
As if not enough, the hotel has a spa and a reflexology room. It will cost you 50,000 IDR per hour, for each service. There`s also a local group band entertaining every night at the hotels pub. The hotel attendants can speak English fluently, this will make it easier for English speaking guests.
The old building seems like it hasn`t been taken care of. Sights such as a brokendown lift, pale bathroom walls, and bedrooms turned into storerooms, have become a common.
